It is our aim to be a "gateway" through which people can encounter the love of God. When Jesus was asked which was the greatest commandment, He replied, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.'" (Matthew 22 v 37-39). As we express our love to God in thanks for all that He has done and all that He is, we encounter His presence and we receive everything that is necessary to touch the people around us with His grace and love.
The church began in May 2005 (originally under the name "Kirkham Christian Fellowship") and was planted by Bob & Julie Grimshaw and their family. To start with we met in Wesham followed by a few years in Kirkham and then in 2013 we moved to Bispham. Right from the start we have been blessed with a Holy Spirit presence in our meetings and also with a strong sense of unity and purpose among us. We believe that God wants to do something new and exciting and we want to be a part of it along with other christians in the Fylde area. God has given gifts and abilities to all of us and we encourage everyone to make use of them both in the church and in everyday life.
Over the years we have been blessed to receive help and input from a number of people including Dennis & Lynnie Walker from Las Vegas and Jim & Sylvia Holl from Jubilee Church in Bromley.
We belong to Maximise, an evangelical and charismatic group of churches located primarily in the North West of England and North Wales. We are a family of churches on mission together, each church pursuing a vision for their own local context whilst being part of a bigger picture together.
Maximise is led by Andy & Emma Barclay-Watt, who are based at Life Church Manchester.
